Behavioral Health Technician (Children's Services)

As a Behavior Technician, you'll play a hands-on role in supporting children with autism and mental health diagnoses in building life skills, communicating, engaging socially, and learning strategies to manage their behavior. Guided by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS), you'll use evidence-based practices to create positive change - one interaction at a time!

Essential Job Duties

• Provide direct 1:1 behavior support to children/adolescence wherever needed (school, home, or day-care)
• Implement individualized treatment plans approved by a BCBA
• Collaboration with other community-based team members, including the assigned BSC
• Study all relevant records regarding the VIP you are assigned
• Teach functional skills such as communication, daily living, vocational readiness, and coping strategies
• Collect clear, accurate data to track progress and guide treatment decisions.
• Support adults in achieving meaningful goals-whether that's navigating the community, building relationships, or increasing self-advocacy
• Use creative problem-solving and compassion to overcome challenges and celebrate successes
• Collaborate with an upbeat, supportive team committed to professional growth and client-centered care
• Accurately complete all documentation and reports of individuals (progress notes, recording data, mileage logs) and hand them in promptly when due
• Maintaining a good rapport with VIPs families ongoingly
• Completing 24 hours of the required annual training
• Have reliable transportation to get to and from work, as well as to transport VIPs when needed
• Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies, engage in supervision and training, and collaborate with the team, staff members, and families on the strategies outlined in the behavior plan

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds

Education and Experience Requirements

• Previous professional and/or personal experience working with adults with Intellectual Disabilities is preferred, but not required.
• Valid driver's license and car insurance
• RBT 40 hour training completed within 2 weeks of hire, facilitation, training, and supervision is provided by RBL BH.
