Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, tailored around student’s schedule and program needs
Position Summary
As an Astra Mental Health and Recovery Master’s Level Student, you will work in a stimulating and collaborative environment where you will gain exposure to diverse clients and perspectives. Students are encouraged to network with other employees and build relationships across disciplines as well as with other students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
As a 2nd Year - Master’s Level Student (clinical social work or master’s psychology practicum), you may have the opportunity to work in the following areas:
- Job shadowing may focus on outpatient therapy services.
- Provide co-therapy with identified fully licensed clinician.
- Co-facilitate group therapy and/or parent education classes with a licensed clinician.
- Research and present on a topic selected by the Training Director and Student. Student will present to a specific internal audience, coordinated through Family Service & Guidance Center’s Training Director.
- Present and/or lead clinical trainings during placement period.
- Additional duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure:
- Current enrollment and in good standing in an accredited master’s degree program majoring in social work or psychology.
- Must successfully pass the KBI and DCF Central Registry background investigations.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, current auto insurance and reliable transportation.
Experience:
- Passion and desire to work with children and families.
- 0-6 months experience working with children.
