Apprenticeship - Grounds-person & Driver

• Would you be thrilled to join an apprenticeship and get paid $20.00 per hour while being trained as a Grounds-person in the tree care industry?

Professional Tree Care is hiring entry level trainees who would like to become professional Grounds-people. Ideally, after a few years, those Grounds-people will advance to do the work of a tree Climbers. Anyone hired must meet these minimum requirements:

1) Have a CURRENT and CLEAN California Driver’s License.
2) Be BILINGUAL (Yes. This job requires that you speak, read, and write WELL in both English and Spanish. YES! There will be a tests.
3) You are physically fit, able to lift 50 pounds and, once trained, able to hoist/pull yourself up into a tree using ropes and pulleys. Able to work outdoors in inclement weather year-round, meaning hot in summer and cold in winter.
4) Able to work outdoors year round in Northern California weather: rain, direct sun, etc.
5) Able to run, walk, and hustle (work fast) for up to 8 hours per day.
6) NOT afraid of heights.
7) You are seeking a career, not a job. To become a good Gounds-person quickly, one must study on your own time. If you have free time in the morning or evenings, this might be a great career for you. If you have commitments after work or have been a couch potato for several years, this is NOT the job for you. 8) You must have reliable transportation (a car or truck?) to the job site, which cannot be reached by public transportation, Uber, or bike. We work from Napa to Monterey and Sacramento to the Bay. This position is based in Martinez, CA.
9) You absolutely MUST live within a 45 minute commute of Richmond, CA. Please calculate your morning commute using Google maps with an arrival time of 7:00 a.m. If you live outside this area and DO NOT plan to move, please do not apply. 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• $20.00 to per hour. NOTE: If you already have experience doing Grounds-person work, Landscaping work or anything similar, please let us know.
• After 90 days of employment, full-time employees are eligible for:
  • Medical, dental, and optical insurance PAID at a 50% by the company
  • 5 paid sick days
  • 5 paid holidays
  • Company-provided P.P.E./safety equipment
  • Free branded gear including company t-shirts and sweatshirts
