Trinity is currently hiring a part-time Shelter Attendant, within our Homer Perkins Center program. Homer Perkins Center is a 20-bed, men's, residential alternative to incarceration facility in Albany, NY. It is part of the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Support continuum of care. What will you be doing as a Shelter Attendant?

  • Provide support and monitoring to all residents.
  • Observe medications and document on medication logs/MARS.
  • Supervise and perform UDS testing and breathalyzers.
  • Provide crisis intervention, as needed.
  • Facilitate appropriate classes for residents.
  • Perform resident head counts and bed checks.
  • Answer and log all phone contact and faxes received.
  • Transport residents to appointments/court and outpatient treatment programs.
  • Conduct appropriate fire drills.
  • Perform physical plant inspections and document any concerns and/or issues.
  • Conduct room searches/inspections.
  • Evaluate job functions of residents.
  • Pick-up food from Food Pantry and other locations.

What are your skills and experience?

  • 1+ year working in a residential facility environment, helping maintain records and overseeing details related to residents.
  • High school diploma or related educational experience.
  • Valid NYS driver's license
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Desire for a flexible work schedule.

Salary - $18.50/hour
