Part-Time Product Assembly and Fulfillment

About Us Konnected (https://konnected.io) is a technology startup in the smart home and Internet-of-Things (IoT) industry, based in Orlando, Florida, with the mission to make smart home monitoring and control easy and accessible for all. Our flagship products, the Konnected Alarm Panel and Konnected Garage Door Opener, are innovative consumer electronic devices that enable our users to retrofit their old alarm systems and garage door openers to enable smart home control from a variety of different consumer smart home platforms.

The Role We are looking for a detailed and efficient team member to assist with product assembly, inventory management, and order fulfillment. This is a hands-on role that involves working with electronics, small electronic accessories, packaging, and computers.

This is a flexible, approximately 10-hour per week position. It is the perfect job for a student needing extra money a few days a week after school, or anyone seeking a half-day of work a few days per week in an air-conditioned office environment.

Responsibilities

• Product Assembly: Assembling products and product kits to prepare them for sale.
• Firmware Flashing: Preparing products for use by "flashing" firmware onto devices using a desktop computer (provided).
• Fulfillment: Packing product in boxes for resale and packaging cases of product to send to Amazon fulfillment centers.
• Order Processing: Packing and shipping ecommerce orders directly to customers.
• Inventory Management: Receiving new inventory, updating inventory systems, organizing stock, and performing inventory counts.
• Workspace Maintenance: Keeping a tidy and organized office and inventory storage area.

Commitment

• Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week.
• Schedule: Flexible. We are looking for consistency and reliability, but we can work around school schedules or other commitments (e.g., a few partial days per week).
• Location: In-person at our professionally managed office building in Orlando.

Qualifications

• Reliable: We need you to keep a reliable schedule to ensure we maintain inventory levels and customer orders go out on time.
• Dexterity: You should be quick with your hands and comfortable handling small electronic components.
• Detail-oriented: Accuracy in assembly and packing is vital to avoid shipping errors.
• Quick Learner: You will be trained on our specific products and systems, but an ability to learn quickly is essential.
• Good with Computers: You must be comfortable navigating a desktop computer to update inventory systems and flash firmware onto electronic devices.
• Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Interest in IoT (bonus): A passion for smart home technology, home automation, or IoT electronics is a plus!

Pay & Benefits

• Pay: $15 to $20 per hour, depending on experience
• Stock Options: We expect all employees to act like owners. You will be granted stock options in addition to hourly pay.
• Retirement: Eligible to participate in company 401(k) with employer matching after 3 months of employment.
• Work Environment: Konnected is a small founder-led company with a mostly remote team. You will be working in our small air-conditioned office in a commercial office building off of N. Semoran.
