Job Description
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A certified Surgical Technologist position is available in a busy operating room setting located in Macon, GA. This contract role offers the opportunity to contribute your skills in a Level 1 Trauma Designated teaching hospital that operates 20 OR rooms and 2 cysto suites. The facility handles a wide variety of cases including general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and cardiovascular procedures.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of General OR experience; 5 years preferred for cardiovascular OR
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST preferred)
- BLS certification required; ACLS is a plus
- Ability to manage cases across all surgical specialties performed in the unit
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills within an inclusive culture

Responsibilities / Duties:
- Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments for all types of surgeries including orthopedic, neurosurgery, cardiovascular, and general surgeries
- Assist surgical teams by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Utilize advanced technology including EPIC Optime for EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing systems, and Phillips monitors
- Participate in a 6-week rotating schedule including day and night shifts (7A-7P or 7P-7A)
- Respond to on-call assignments approximately 6-9 times per month including holidays and weekends
- Attend a 1-week orientation for hospital and unit-specific training
This contract offer includes a 10-hour day shift with a robust call schedule supporting surgical care excellence. The position allows for hands-on involvement in a variety of plex surgical cases while working alongside a dedicated team.
