Key responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor and develop a quality team of 20-25 hourly employees; set objectives, conduct performance reviews, and manage staffing/metrics.
  • Oversee inspection operations, in-process and final inspection activities, calibration and measurement systems, and nonconformance handling.
  • Define, monitor and report quality KPIs (DPPM, first-pass yield, NCRs) defects.
  • Implement and reinforce shop-floor quality controls, work instructions, inspection plans, and training for inspectors and technicians.
  • Escalate complex nonconformances, formal root-cause investigations, to the Senior Quality Manager or Engineering and provide supporting inspection data.
  • Own and maintain the site QMS (document control, procedures, records) to ensure continuous AS9100 compliance.
  • Prepare for and lead AS9100 external audits; coordinate internal audits to ensure audit readiness.
  • Provide training on QMS processes, AS9100 requirements, and quality tools to site personnel.
  • Assist with managing quality-related budgetary items.


Required qualifications:
  • Minimum 4 years of Quality experience, with direct experience in a manufacturing environment; experience with AS9100 required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of people-management experience leading teams of 15+ (preferred 20+).
  • Proven experience managing a QMS and preparing for/passing AS9100 audits.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone), problem solving (8D).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with quality management software, ERP systems, and MS Office.


Preferred
  • Experience in aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing.
