Entry Level Staff Accountant / CPA

A Regional CPA Firm with offices in Houma and Metairie is seeking to add the next generation of talent to its team. For nearly 40 years, the firm has served closely held businesses and individuals throughout the surrounding parishes. We are intentionally growing and looking for motivated professionals who want a long-term career in public accounting.

Role Overview

We are hiring a Staff Accountant with 0–2 years of experience who wants to grow in public accounting. This role can be based in either our Houma or Metairie office and will support both tax and attest work, with direct exposure to partners and senior CPAs. You will work on real client engagements from day one and have a clear path to increased responsibility over time.

What You Will Do

• Assist with preparation of individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns

• Support compilations, reviews, and audit engagements under supervision

• Perform general accounting work, including reconciliations and workpaper preparation

• Assist with year-end close projects and basic planning assignments

• Communicate with clients by email and phone to request information and resolve questions

• Work closely with senior staff and partners across both offices

• Participate in continuing education and on-the-job training to build technical skills

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

• Eligible for CPA track or currently pursuing CPA certification

• 0–2 years of experience in public accounting or a closely related role

• Willingness to work on both tax and attest engagements

• Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn from senior team members

• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines during busy season

• Interest in a long-term career in public accounting with room to grow

Location and Schedule

• Houma, LA and/or Metairie, LA

• Occasional travel as needed

• Hybrid schedule potential after training and performance are established
