American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-risk Labor & Delivery position at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma hospital in Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license and L&D certifications.
Details- High-risk Labor & Delivery unit in a 407-bed acute care Magnet facility and USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
- Unit includes 10 OB Triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
- Average daily deliveries of approximately 7, with up to 14 patients including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases
- OB Triage averages 4–5 third trimester testing patients plus additional triage patients daily
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30); schedule is most likely straight nights, but may rotate between nights and days every 4 weeks if coverage is needed
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call required
- May float to like OB units as needed; all travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state
- Charting system: Epic (experience required)
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking on-site
- Active Alaska RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, AWHONN Advanced, and NRP
- Minimum 1 year of L&D experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred; facility is willing to train for charge responsibilities
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty and setting
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Former permanent employees of this facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler, and are also subject to the 50-mile radius rule
- Candidates with a previous travel or per-diem history at any Providence facility should be prepared to disclose location(s) and dates worked
- 13-week contract
- RTO is approved on an individual basis and must be disclosed upfront; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
- Block scheduling is not available
