Director of Nursing DON

Aperion Care Lakeshore is seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the clinical department at our skilled nursing and rehabilitation center. Responsibilities

• Oversee all nursing department operations to ensure high-quality resident care

• Provide leadership, mentorship, and accountability for all clinical staff

• Ensure full compliance with CMS, IDPH, and all state/federal regulations

• Manage staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management

• Lead survey preparation, QAPI initiatives, and quality improvement programs

• Collaborate with the Administrator, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary team

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and promote best practices

• Foster a positive, team-oriented, resident-centered environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Illinois

• Prior experience as a DON or ADON in a skilled nursing facility required

• Strong knowledge of regulatory guidelines, PDPM, infection control, and survey processes

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities

• Commitment to resident care excellence and staff development
