Position Summary:

The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a full-time, fellowship-trained Non-Operative Sports Medicine Physician to join our growing academic practice. This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality musculoskeletal care in a collaborative environment while contributing to education, research, and program development.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive non-operative sports medicine care at UNC Orthopaedic Clinics, including the Chapel Hill campus and possibly one of our satellite locations.
  • Perform advanced clinic-based procedures, including musculoskeletal ultrasound-guided injections and other minimally invasive interventions.
  • Provide care for athletes and active individuals of all ages.

Academic & Leadership Opportunities:
  • Serve as a full-time faculty member within the UNC Department of Orthopaedics, with expectations for teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives aligned with departmental goals.
  • Play a key role in the development and assume eventual leadership of our Joint Motion Arthritis Program, focused on high quality, best practice collaborative, innovative, management of osteoarthritis. This includes shaping clinical protocols, integrating emerging therapies, and building a multidisciplinary care model.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • MD or DO degree with completion of an accredited residency in Family Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine.
  • Fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine (CAQ preferred).
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in North Carolina.
  • Demonstrated interest in leadership, program development, and advancing musculoskeletal health.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Board-Certification.
