Salt Truck Operator

Total Turf is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Salt Truck Operator to join our team for the winter season. In this essential role, you will help ensure the safety of our clients by keeping parking lots and other surfaces free of snow and ice. • Safely operate a de-icing truck equipped with a salt spreader to treat client parking lots and surfaces as needed.
• Apply de-icing materials according to weather conditions and jobsite requirements.
• Inspect and maintain the truck and equipment before and after each shift to ensure proper functioning.
• Follow assigned routes and adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
• Load and unload de-icing materials, ensuring even distribution for safe and effective application.
• Communicate with site supervisors and team members to coordinate service and respond to changing conditions.
• Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, and maintenance activities.
• Perform minor truck repairs and promptly report any mechanical issues.
• Comply with weight and loading regulations to ensure safe operation.
• Must be available after snow events for Salting Services

• Experience operating trucks or similar vehicles, preferably with salt spreader equipment.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and safe driving practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills for coordinating with supervisors and team members.
• Attention to detail in maintaining logs and performing equipment checks.
• Ability to perform minor vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions, including nights and weekends as needed.
