Healthcare Coordinator

Entry Level - Training Provided
Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Answer incoming phone calls and greet patients in professional and courteous manner

• Schedule patient appointment for various sleep studies (e.g. polysomnography, multiple sleep latency test, maintenance of wakefulness test)

• Verify patients’ insurance information  and obtain necessary authorization or pre-certifications

• Confirm appointments with patients via phone and email or text messages and provide necessary pre-appointment instructions

• Manage appointment waiting list and reschedule appointment as needed

• Coordinate with sleep technicians and other departments to ensure efficient patient flow and minimize scheduling conflicts

• Maintain accurate and organized scheduling records

• Handle patient inquiries and resolve scheduling issues promptly and professionally

• Process referrals and coordinate with referring physicians’ office

• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations

• Perform other clerical duties assigned, such as faxing and scanning and filing
