Global Privacy Officer

Brief Description:

Reporting to theChief Ethics and Compliance Officer, theGlobal Privacy Officerisseniormember of theEthics,Compliance,and Privacydepartment whowill play a critical role in advancing the company's strategy and commitment to compliance,ethics, and privacybydeveloping, implementing, andcontinuouslyenhancing our global privacyprogramaligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.TheGlobal PrivacyOfficerleads a team ofprivacyprofessionalsandworks with othermembers of theEthics,Compliance, and Privacydepartment, members of theFinance, IT,ERM,HR,andLegal departmentsandotherstakeholders across the company,as well asexternaladvisors as needed,to support the company'soverall objectives.

TheGlobal Privacy Officerhas a broad-based knowledge of the privacy laws and regulations governing pharmaceutical company activities in the US, U.K., EU and other jurisdictions in which the company conducts its business, including but not limited to HIPAA,various US state privacy laws that may be applicable to the company's activities, andGDPR.TheGlobal Privacy Officershould have extensive expertisedesigning and implementinga comprehensive global privacy program, capable of supporting the activities of a pharmaceuticalcompany with an active research and development function, and should be capable of identifying privacy risks and designing effective mitigation strategies to manage those risks in key areas likeclinical trials / clinical research, patient advocacy, and interactions with health care providers and government officials.The Global Privacy Officer should also be capable ofadvisinga global HR function on the privacy considerations associated with managing a global workforceandshould be familiar withmanaging and mitigating privacyincident responses.The person in this role works autonomously but must alsohave the ability towork collaboratively across a range of functions and departments.TheGlobal Privacy Officeris confident and proactive in his/her approach with a strong commitment to ethical decision-making.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Leads a team ofprivacyprofessionals tosupport the strategicobjectivesof the organization and its commitment to compliance,ethics, and privacyby:

• Developing,implementing, andmaintaininga global privacyprogramaligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices;

• Servingasa keypoint of contact forprivacyauthorities in the US, UK, and EU, as necessary;and

• Reliably and proactivelyidentifyingprivacy riskand designing effective mitigation strategies, as needed.

• Oversee data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), privacy risk assessments, and third-party vendor evaluationsto manage privacy risk; designmitigation strategies as necessary;

• In partnership with the Senior Compliance Officer, Global Monitoring, Auditing, and Third-Party Risk Management, collect and analyze data to detectemerging risk areas,deficient controls, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.Prepare detailed reportsand/or dashboardsforthe Ethics, Compliance,and Privacy team, as well as key stakeholders, including Jazz Commercial, R&D and other leadersto provideprivacyrisk information and assessment of the adequacy of compliance controls;

• In partnership with the Senior Compliance Officer, Global Policies, Education, and Investigations, draftglobal privacy policies,design and deliver global privacy training programs for employees, contractors, and partners, and leadinvestigations and responses to data breaches and privacy incidents, including regulatory reporting and remediation, as needed;

• Promote a privacy-first culture through ongoing education and engagement;

• Manage processes for handling data subject access requests (DSARs), consent management, and individual rights under GDPR and other laws;

• Lead cross-functional efforts to ensure compliance across R&D, clinical trials, marketing, HR, and digital platforms

• Serves as a key member of theEthics,Compliance, and Privacylead team, coordinating with other lead team members to advance the department's goals andobjectivesand to drive consistency in the approach to compliance and ethics across the company;

• Stays informed on new laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting the companyand ensures that those new developments are appropriately reflected intheglobal privacy program;

• WillinglyassistsEthics,Compliance, and PrivacyDepartment colleagues with projects and activities in areas outside of his/her primary areas of responsibility as needed to achieve corporateobjectives, contribute to a collegialatmosphereand balance workloads.

Requirements of this position include:

• 10-12years of relevant pharmaceutical privacy experience in-house, with specificexpertiseinmanaging a global privacy program for a multinational organization;

• Law degree preferred, but notrequired;

• Deep understanding of global privacy regulations and their practical application;

• Experience managingprivacy incidentsand/or data breach;

• Solid judgment and business acumen and understanding of business operations, particularly in multinational pharmaceutical organizations

• Solid understanding ofprivacylaws and regulations governing the pharmaceutical or healthcare industryboth in the US and internationally, includingpatient and employeedata requirements;

• Experience working in a business environment across multiple functions and geographies, withhigh levelof responsiveness and with a strong customer service orientation;

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, enthusiastic, self-motivated, efficient, able to handle heavy workload;team player, who enjoys working in and supporting a collaborative environment

• Able to work accurately withan appropriate senseof urgency and function effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;

• Strong interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, flexibility and collaboration and the ability tointerface effectively throughoutall levels of the organization as well as with external parties, and adaptable to circumstances and variety of cultures;
