American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step-Down Unit position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, AHA-certified ACLS and BLS, and an active SC or Compact RN license.

- Step-down unit in a hospital setting with a 12-bed unit capacity \n
- Patient ratio of 1:4 \n
- Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM \n
- Every other weekend is required \n
- Holiday rotation is required \n
- No on-call responsibilities \n
- Travelers are expected to float within scope to meet facility needs, with agency staff floating first \n
- Charting is done in Epic \n
- Free parking is available on-site \n

- Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have an active license before starting \n
- Certifications required: ACLS and BLS — AHA-issued certifications only \n
- NIHSS certification preferred \n
- Minimum 2 years of Step-Down RN experience required \n
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration \n
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration \n

- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position \n
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate \n
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler \n
- All requested time off must be disclosed upfront; approval is subject to facility needs \n
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date \n
- Scrub color required: royal blue \n
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September \n
