We’re currently looking for a Part Time Mental Health Aide / Companion in Boones Mill, VA 24065
A lovely family in Boones Mill, near Roanoke, is seeking a compassionate, experienced Caregiver to support a joyful, warm client with mental-health–related needs. Care is needed one day per week for a minimum of 2 hours. The family is flexible on which days and times depending on the candidate’s availability.
This role is ideal for someone with a behavioral health background who can provide light oversight, companionship, medication organization, and support with recognizing mental-health red flags.

- Schedule:
- One shift per week
- 2-4 hours: Dependent on the candidate’s availability and the needs of the client (longer shifts would have notice)
- One shift per week
- Start date: ASAP
- Length of Position: Ongoing
- Rate: $60-80 per shift based on experience
- Age of Client: 71 years old
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship, emotional support, and monitoring for mental-health–related red flags
- Communicate with family about concerns, updates, and changes in behavior
- Coordinate directly with medical providers as needed
- Assist with medication organization and checking medication expiration dates
- Offer medication reminders
- Provide occasional transportation to appointments with advanced notice
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 2+ years of paid, professional relevant experience
- Must be able to provide at least two professional relevant references, or references that collectively cover at least two years of professional experience, whichever is greater
- CPR certified or willing to become certified
- Has valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and driver’s insurance
- Must be able to successfully clear a background and social media check
- Preferred Education/Training: Certified Behavioral / Mental Health Technician or CNA or Medical Assisting
Compensation
Position pays $60–$80 per shift, depending on experience.
