American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO) is seeking a reliable, safety-focused 2nd Shift Machine Operator to support our Material Preparation team.

This role plays a critical part in production by operating burn tables and industrial saws to accurately cut and prepare steel materials.


Job Title: Machine Operator – 2nd Shift

Department: Material Preparation

Location: 531 Old Swede Road – Douglassville, PA 19518

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 1:30PM–10:00PM | Full-time hours on-site

Compensation: Competitive starting hourly rate based on experience and qualifications (+$5/hour shift differential on 2nd shift)

What You’ll Do

  • Set up and operate burn table equipment (plasma or gas) to cut steel plate and structural material
  • Operate industrial saws (band saws or similar) to cut raw materials to required lengths and tolerances
  • Load and unload material using overhead cranes, magnets, lift beams, and forklifts
  • Read blueprints, cutting lists, and bills of material (BOMs)
  • Inspect and measure finished parts to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Maintain material traceability by properly marking grades, heat numbers, and lot numbers
  • Perform minor machine adjustments and routine preventive maintenance
  • Support fabrication and service material prep needs, including priority and rush jobs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following safety policies and PPE requirements
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules

What We’re Looking For

Education

  • High school diploma or GED (required)

Skills, Experience & Attributes

  • Prior experience operating a burn table (plasma or gas) strongly preferred
  • Experience operating industrial saws preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints, cutting lists, and material specifications
  • Manufacturing or material preparation experience preferred
  • Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Safety-minded and dependable
  • Able to communicate effectively with supervisors and peers

Requirements

  • On-site, 2nd-shift availability (Monday–Friday) 1:30PM-10:00PM
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing and fabrication shop environment
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and heavy materials
  • Occasional exposure to heat, fumes, vibration, noise, and airborne particles
  • Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
