Position Title: Corporate Logistics Manager Department: Supply Chain

Status/Shift: Full-time/1st Shift

Overall Responsibility: Responsible for the Transportation, Shipping, Customs and Compliance activity related to raw materials, non-production commodities, finished goods and capital equipment.

Essential Duties:

  • Handle technical details relating to both domestic & international transportation, such as customs regulations and any necessary documentation. Section 301 Tariff Strategy as a forefront focus.
  • Required to efficiently evaluate the costs of transportation & services within budget or distribution strategy.
  • Must have knowledge of national and international import/export legislation and must be able to effectively troubleshoot any issues that may arise in international freight transportation.
  • Build relationships with Logistics mediators and work closely with both internal and external customers.
  • Documentation and organization is important – any changes to operating procedures, prioritization or any problems must be documented and communicated accurately.
  • Other Duties as assigned by management.

Key Tasks:

Transportation

  • Material delivery escalations – Assisting Manufacturing teams with expediting from suppliers or to customers.
  • Freight Claims/Charge Backs – Reduction of claims & recovery of monies owed.
  • Supplier Reviews – Contribute, assist to periodic supplier reviews.

Distribution

  • Freight Coordination – Proper assignment and usage of carriers/vehicles by Manufacturing teams or other MC personnel.
  • Troubleshooting Daily Issues – Handle daily inquiries from MC staff, freight forwarders, suppliers & customers.
  • Customer Service – Following and assigning proper instructions to all shipments.

Import / Export Compliance

  • Duties, logistics related taxation and tariffs.
  • Trades, rules of origin & ITAR

Invoice Auditing

  • Reports customs Brokerage, Duty and Federal Tax expenses – Weekly review/reporting of all logistics expenses incurred.

Certifications

  • Manage and maintain all company Logistic certifications.

Education/Experience:

  • Degreed in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or related discipline or equivalent experience, as well as 5 Years experience in the Logistics sector, preferably with global EMS and electronics background.
  • Strong US custom broker experience preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred, as well as an awareness of different cultures and a diplomatic approach to any associated conflicts.
  • Must have effective communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks all with an attention to fine detail.
  • Negotiation skills are important to success since domestic and international communication is a pivotal part of the job.
  • 3PL & Project Management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of basic accountancy.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
