Job Summary
The Release Engineer acts as a technical liaison between Engineering, Production, and Procurement teams, ensuring that all information released to production is timely, accurate, and clear. This role supports the execution and implementation of manufacturing processes for architectural millwork and custom cabinetry projects, focusing on design, engineering, and basic project management activities.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design Support
Interpret and review architectural and shop drawings for accuracy.
Modify and optimize designs for efficient material usage and production flow.
Troubleshoot design issues and provide solutions to minimize waste and rework.
Work Order Management
Create and release work orders from Microvellum, exporting to Cut Rite and other systems.
Assign routing for machine operations and optimize parts lists for production.
Generate Product Detail Reports (PDR), labels, and EB reports for production.
Process Coordination
Collaborate with Project Managers, CNC Operators, Shop Foreman, and Purchasing Agents to ensure accuracy of documentation.
Schedule jobs for production efficiency and manage change requests.
Identify and implement process improvements daily.
Technical Tasks
Use Cut Rite software to create cutting patterns for Schelling FH5 and Weeke flatbed routers.
