Wieland is hiring Machine Operators. The Machine Operator plays a vital role in supporting production operations including operating machinery, performing preparation tasks, handling materials, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Employees will be assigned to one of the current open production positions upon hire depending on business needs. Wieland is a fast-paced production setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection are required and provided. This role is located in Duncansville, PA and will be fully on-site.
Starting Pay: $19.06 to $20.21/hr for the 60-90 day training period, then $23.80 to $25.28/hr depending on the department/position.
Schedule: 3:00pm to 11:00pm on 2nd shift or 11:00pm to 7:00am on 3rd shift. Training on 1st shift from 7:00am to 3:00pm for estimated 2 to 4 weeks.
Pay Schedule: Weekly
Machine Operator Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment and machinery according to safety and quality standards
- Perform general labor tasks such as material handling, assembly, packaging, and cleaning of work areas
- Inspect products for defects and ensure compliance with quality requirements
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and production schedules to meet daily output goals
- Assist with loading/unloading materials and supplies within lifting restrictions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies
- Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or production issues to supervisors promptly
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and continuous improvement
Machine Operator Qualifications:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull and reach throughout the shift
- Manual dexterity to handle tools, materials, and small components
- Maximum individual lifting restriction: 40 lbs per person
- Use of mechanical aids (carts, lifts, hoists) required for heavier loads
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior manufacturing or warehouse experience is a plus, but not required
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”), and the ability to access and handle ITAR “Technical Data” as defined by 22 CFR § 120.33 is an essential function.
