Position Summary

The Lung & Allergy Health Associate plays a key role in supporting specialty pulmonary and allergy diagnostic services while helping ensure smooth day-to-day clinic operations. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Lung & Allergy Health Associate provides limited administrative and front-office support as needed to maintain continuity of care, patient access, and clinic flow. This role works closely with providers, medical assistants, and administrative staff to support high-quality patient experiences while contributing to a scalable staffing model as LAHA continues to grow.

  • Provide backup support for charting and appointment scheduling during front office absences, lunch coverage, or high-volume periods.
  • Serve as the primary role responsible for initiating, tracking, and coordinating prior authorizations for patient medications, procedures, and diagnostic services, in collaboration with providers and clinic leadership.
  • Communicate with insurance carriers, pharmacies, and internal teams to support timely authorization outcomes
  • Close patient encounters and route claims or documentation to the appropriate department.
  • Sort incoming faxes and direct them to medical records, prior authorization, or clinical workflows as appropriate
  • Support inventory management, including ordering medical supplies and tracking routine compliance checks.
  • Assist with patient rooming, equipment setup, and clinic flow as needed.
  • Participate in data collection for reporting, marketing support, or operational needs during periods of low patient volume once primary duties are completed.
  • Coordinate with clinicians and clinic staff to support efficient specialty clinic operations.
  • Make sure testing equipment is clean, working properly, and ready for patients.
  • Play a key role in helping the clinic grow by improving patient access and experience
  • Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the scope of the role and clinic needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a clinical setting required; pulmonary, allergy, or respiratory care experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with pulmonary function testing (PFTs), FeNO, or respiratory diagnostics highly desirable
  • Comfort working with medical equipment, technology, and EMR systems
