Senior Estimator - Heavy Highway Construction

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join a team that’s been building major roadway, bridge, and civil projects for years. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows heavy highway construction inside and out and wants to be part of a stable, tight-knit group.

What you’ll be doing:

• Reviewing plans, specs, and bid documents for state and federal highway projects
• Performing take-offs and preparing accurate, detailed cost estimates
• Coordinating with subcontractors and vendors to gather quotes and pricing
• Using HCSS (Heavy Bid), P6, AutoCAD, and other estimating/scheduling tools
• Partnering with project managers to review bids, track costs, and support project execution
• Attending team meetings and contributing to bid strategy discussions
• Maintaining and building strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management
• At least 10 years of heavy highway construction estimating experience
• Solid background with estimation software (HCSS, Primavera P6, AutoCAD)
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Stable work history with proven success in estimating roles
• Field experience and strong plan/contract reading ability
• Ability to work well in a collaborative, team-first environment
