American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity CVICU position at a Magnet, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Cardiac/CVICU experience and a valid MO or compact RN license.

- High-acuity Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) setting within a short-term acute care hospital \n
- Patient population includes acute heart failure, CHF exacerbation, cardiogenic shock, complete heart block, post-cardiac arrest, pre-heart transplant, and ventricular arrhythmias \n
- Patient ratio of 1:2 \n
- Procedures and equipment include ventilator management, arterial line management, pulmonary artery (PA) catheter monitoring, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), Impella devices, LVADs, pacemakers, vasoactive drips, central lines, dialysis, and Foley catheters \n
- Charting performed in Epic (experience required) \n
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30) \n
- Every other weekend required \n
- Floating within the cardiovascular service line may be required to meet facility needs \n
- No on-call required \n
- \n
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license valid in Missouri required at time of consideration; pending IL license candidates may be considered with noted disclosure \n
- Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS \n
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac/CVICU ICU experience required \n
- Experience with ventilator management, arterial lines, PA catheters, IABPs, Impella, and LVADs required \n
- Neuro ICU background alone is not sufficient; dedicated Cardiac/CVICU experience is required \n
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position \n
- Must pass a Relias EKG exam prior to assignment \n

- Magnet-designated, academic teaching hospital with Level I Trauma Center designation \n
- Scrub color: Navy Blue \n
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position \n
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before working as a traveler; standard travelers may remain for up to 18 months before requiring a 3-month break \n
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days (40 hours) per contract, with no more than 2 requests; no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation \n
- Monthly parking passes are available for day/rotating shift workers at varying costs; night shift workers park at no charge in employee parking \n
