Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS: Technical, clerical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills relevant to patient care/area. Provide direct care to patients before, during, and after surgery, including assessing patients, planning care, and implementing care plans. Prepare, administer, and document medications for patients. Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any changes. Operate and track medical equipment, such as catheters, feeding tubes, IVs, and oxygen tanks. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals on patient care plans and progress. Chart patient progress and complete admission and discharge paperwork. Educate patients and their families about the patients' recovery and aftercare. Advocate for patients' needs, preferences, and rights. Med-surg nurses need to have a broad medical knowledge and skill set, including the ability to stay organized, maintain a calm demeanor, and multitask.
EDUCATION: Must complete an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program and licensed as a Registered Nurse accepted by Texas State Board of Nursing. Current and active Texas State RN License, CPR, ACLS, and PALS are required or will received upon hire.
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Registered Nurse accepted by Texas State Board of Nursing. Technical, clerical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills relevant to patient care/area. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
DUTY HOURS: (Night Shift) 7 PM to 7 AM including alternating weekends and Holidays
Rate of pay will depend on experience.
