Job Description
Summary:
This position is responsible for completing all assigned work orders and projects under the direction of the Buildings Supervisor or Buildings Lead. The Maintenance Tech I may perform weekend and holiday maintenance on-call duties when scheduled and after hour emergency calls when required. Assigned duties, hours and location of work areas are subject to change as determined by the Facilities Division to meet the needs of the agency. Additionally, this position provides professional facility maintenance to maintain operations buildings including surrounding areas. This is accomplished by making minor repairs and assisting in basic electrical, plumbing, heating & air conditioning, painting, carpentry, construction, floor, ceiling, roofing, and other miscellaneous repairs. Other duties include assisting during inclement weather events, identifying parts to maintain supply inventories, and completing related assignments.
This is a designated Essential Employee position whose attendance is required to maintain agency operations during an emergency or inclement weather situation.

Responsibilities:
- Maintains facility exteriors by cleaning windows, cleaning parking lot debris, cleaning exterior walls and surfaces, removing items and debris from roofs and gutters, and cleaning and maintaining HVAC coils and filters.
- Completes requests for service by using hand and power tools, assembling and disassembling objects and equipment, determining nature and location of malfunctions, planning, and scheduling repairs, requesting information, assistance and/or supplies, and troubleshooting problems. Monitoring work activities using computer technology and using the Maintenance CMMS system to schedule, record and complete activities.
- Reports issues by operating vehicles and equipment, inspecting, and reporting equipment defects, reading instruments and gauges, maintaining supply inventories, identifying and reporting trends, and ensuring all information is complete and accurate.
- Completes work orders by reviewing and prioritizing tasks, working with other departments and team members, participating in meetings, reviewing policies and procedures, assisting with training, and completing tasks.
- Assists in the cleanup of snow and ice debris and during severe weather events.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
· High School diploma or equivalent
· 1-3 years’ experience
· Class “C” driver’s license
Preferred:
· Class “B” CDL or ability to obtain one within 12 months.
