Roles at a Glance

Trackers offers a variety of educator employment opportunities. We encourage candidates to apply for any and all Seasonal positions that match their availability and interest, as roles are limited and competitive.

Guide As a Guide, you work directly with youth programs. You teach real skills—like stealth, shelter-building, tracking, and craft—with humor, grit, and care. Out in the field, it’s you and your group, making magic happen. $21.50 to $23.50 per hour

Coordinator Guide You lead, manage, and mentor both kids and staff, ensuring program safety, flow, and fun. Coordinators hold the line—bringing strategy, leadership, and support across every camp day. $1542/week for the Summer Season.

Specialist (Field Mentor) This is not a generalist role. Specialist Guides are experienced practitioners who lead in one focused area—ceramics, woodworking, bushcraft, hunter safety, paddlesports, and more. $22.50-$28.50/hour. Part-Time Summer Season.

About Compensation

All compensation rates are effective Summer 2026. Required training is paid at Washington minimum wage. Pay for Guides and Coordinators starts at the base rate of the posted range, with increases based on our formal pay bump rubric, including certifications and returning summer seasons. Specialist pay varies by instructional depth and program demand. Full compensation details are available at:

What You Bring

  • Situational Awareness & Grit – Make smart decisions in the moment, even in wild or unpredictable conditions.

  • Strategic Thinking & Calm Under Pressure – Keep cool when things go sideways. You’ve got this.

  • Physical Readiness – Comfortable walking 10K–20K steps daily in varied terrain and weather.

  • Specialized Skills – Your niche talents make our programs stronger. Whether it’s wilderness medicine or spoon carving, we value real-world know-how.

  • Youth Mentorship – You know how to inspire kids, from K to 12th grade. You teach with both strength and compassion.

Note: While we don’t expect you to be a tech wizard, Trackers uses various systems to manage logistics and communication. You’ll be expected to complete some tasks using basic digital tools.

Responsibilities Overview

  • Lead with Grit – Guide youth in meaningful outdoor adventures while holding safety and flow.

  • Mentor with Heart – Build relationships. Model responsibility, humor, and skill.

  • Think on Your Feet – Adapt to weather, group energy, gear mishaps, or logistical shifts.

  • Care for the Community – Steward the land, the kids, and your fellow educators.

Commitment

We invest heavily in training, so we prioritize applicants who can commit to the full season. For summer, this means being available for full-week assignments - showing up consistently on scheduled program days. This continuity supports the kids. Need flexibility?

Scheduling

Training is required, paid at Washington minimum wage. Final schedules depend on enrollment, training performance, and your availability. For summer, not all staff work every week, and we prioritize those available for the full season. Schedules may change based on site needs—staff are expected to adapt accordingly.

Locations

Staff must be able to report Kirkland, WA. You may be assigned as a Program Guide (central check-in) or Field Guide (report directly to site). Placement depends on program fit, site needs, availability, and experience. We aim for consistent assignments but may reassign staff to support enrollment, coverage, and camper safety.
