Job Description
ABILITY TO:
1. Assist certrificated staff in daily instruction including (but not limited to):
Academics-reading, writing, math concepts. Speech/Langauge-communication skills in English and Spanish. Leisure/recreation - recess, games and outings. Specialized subject areas- based on
needs. Trasporting and toileting students if needed.
2. Assist certificated staff in individual and group instruction of students in various learning situations including academic subjects, athletics and crafts.
3. Perform routine clerical and record keeping duties in support of classroom activiites, such as logging and reporting student attendance, student work, meal counts, incident reports and other records related to students' instruction.
4 Add, subtract, multiply and divide quickly and accurately.
5. Print and write legibly, communicate effectively both orally and and in writing. Understand and follow oral and written directions.
6. Maintain cooperative relationships with all parents/care providers, staff, and students.
7. Provide oral Spanish/English translations for conferences with parents and/or students.
8. Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications
Applicant must be highly qualified as defined in NCLB. Individuals are highly qualified if they have: 1. completed two years of study (48 units) at an institution of higher education: or 2. obtained an associate's bachelor's or master's degree, or 3 met a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment. knowledge of, and the ability to, assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics. Verified by a copy of transcripts or test results.
