Description

RUN Studios, and its client partner, a large online retailer headquartered in Seattle, are seeking a Senior User Experience Designer to join for an approximate 9-month project, with the possibility of conversion!

 

This is a fully on-site position, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, with candidates expected to commute to the Bellevue, Washington office 5 days per week.

 

We are seeking a Senior UX Designer to join a team focused on solving complex operational challenges through thoughtful, human-centered design. This role goes beyond interface design and centers on building systems that support how people interact with technology, processes, and one another in high-impact operational environments. Your work will directly influence real-world workflows and decision-making at scale.

In this role, you will translate ambiguous and complex requirements into clear, intuitive solutions that balance user needs with operational and technical constraints. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, operations, and safety partners while contributing to design strategy and execution across multiple workstreams. This is an opportunity to shape how technology supports large-scale operations and deliver solutions that improve efficiency, clarity, and safety for thousands of users.

 

As a Senior UX Designer, You Will:

  • Lead UX design across complex workflows and systems that support operational teams and site leaders
  • Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the design lifecycle
  • Translate operational and business requirements into intuitive, user-centered solutions
  • Conduct and synthesize qualitative UX research, including user interviews, usability testing, and observational research
  • Create interaction designs, wireframes, and prototypes with strong attention to usability, visual craft, and system-level thinking
  • Navigate ambiguous problem spaces and rapidly onboard to complex systems and workflows
  • Advocate for user needs while balancing technical and operational constraints
  • Contribute to design quality and consistency and support or mentor other designers as needed

 

As an Applicant, You Bring:

  • At least 7+ years of professional UX design experience
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design work on complex problems
  • Proven experience collaborating with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience conducting qualitative UX research such as interviews, usability testing, and observational research
  • Strong interaction design and visual design skills, including experience prototyping mobile or responsive experiences
  • Demonstrated empathy for end users and confidence making informed design decisions
  • Expertise with Figma, including experience working with design systems and prototyping
  • Comfort working in highly complex environments and ramping quickly on new systems
  • Willingness to travel locally for site visits, with occasional short trips outside the state
  • Experience working on associate-facing software experiences
  • Formal education in Design, Interaction/UX Design or HCI

Compensation

Pay Range: $50 -$61.00 (Hourly)    

The successful candidate’s pay will be based on various factors such as individual qualifications and work location.
