Medical Assistant - Surgery Center - PRN - Part-time

Location: Quincy, IL
Pay Range: $16.12 - $24.18 per hour | Based on Relevant Experience
Schedule: PRN (as needed, Monday – Friday daytime hours)

About the Role:
Quincy Medical Group is seeking a flexible and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our Surgery Center team. In this role, you’ll provide as-needed support to assist with patient care and clinical operations before, during, and after surgical procedures. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in a surgical setting while maintaining a flexible schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist with vital signs and chart documentation.

• Support room turnover and maintain cleanliness of pre-op and recovery areas.

• Perform scope cleaning and other sterile processing duties as trained.

• Help with stocking supplies and maintaining organized workspaces.

• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members to ensure smooth surgical experiences.

• Provide general assistance to nursing, anesthesia, and provider staff as directed.

• Adapt to changing needs in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Current CPR certification required (training available upon hire).

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, CNA, or clinical support staff preferred but not required.

• Strong communication and multitasking skills.

• Comfortable working in a surgical environment and supporting various team roles.
