Irrigation Technician - Maintenance - Full-time

Primary Purpose: To provide assistance to the Plumbing Supervisor in carrying out the repair, replacement, programming and preventive maintenance of all irrigation systems with the district

Qualifications: Minimum Education/Certification: High School Diploma or G.E.D, Irrigation License as required by State law Minimum Experience: 5 years in commercial-industrial trade preferred Special Knowledge and Skills: Must be knowledgeable of fundamental principles of irrigation systems and code requirements Must be able to program and trouble shoot all types of irrigation systems commercially available

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Receive and complete work orders as assigned.
2. Perfonn electrical, plumbing, carpentry, locksmith, painting and grounds work as assigned by the Supervisor
3. Maintain existing irrigation equipment under the direction ofthe Master Plumber
4. Assist supervisor in keeping records and reports.
5. Maintain all work areas, tools and equipment in a clean and neat condition.
6. Infonn supervisor of major irrigation repair/replacement needs
7. Attend schools, seminars, and etc. to improve job knowledge, skills and abilities
8. Assist co-workers in perfonnances of their duties or in their absence.
9. Assist in budget planning for water conservation and accurate accounting of water usage. 10. Demonstrate a positive attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to perfonn any additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

EQUIPMENT USED:
Small hand tools, drills, testing instruments, trencher, tractors, loaders, aerial lifts and other associated tools ofthe irrigation or plumbing trade. WORKING CONDITIONS: Physical

Demands:
Strenuous walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting -over 45 pounds. Responsibilities ofthe position can cause and require irregular work hours.

Environment: Work outside and inside: exposure to hot and cold temperatures; work with high temperature and low temperature work in confined space; work in wet or possibly toxic areas, work in elevated positions.
