We are looking for a Lab Assistant who is enthusiastic about supporting our mission and growing within a dynamic IVF laboratory environment.

 

BASIC FUNCTION
Provide administrative and operational support in an in vitro fertilization (IVF) laboratory. Assist with quality control (QC) paperwork, documentation, laboratory support tasks, and general lab operations.

 

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Under direct supervision, the Lab Assistant supports the lab team by maintaining accurate records, preparing dishes and supplies, performing sterilization, pipetting, and device preparation, tracking inventory, and assisting with EMR updates and laboratory documentation.

 

TYPICAL WORK RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare paperwork and track cycle progression for patients undergoing procedures at Dallas IVF.

  • Compile and enter data, and update the electronic medical record (EMR) system and cryo-storage inventory tracking systems as needed.

  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure proper functionality.

  • Prepare supplies for culture, cryopreservation, and thawing of embryos and oocytes.

  • Prepare all media used with human gametes according to laboratory protocols.

  • Perform sterilization, pipetting, and device preparation.

  • Track and manage inventory of laboratory supplies.

  • Provide general lab support to staff, including andrology support and occasional documentation assistance.

  • Perform related duties as required to support smooth laboratory operations.

  • Support lab operations, including flexible coverage for rotating weekends and possible overtime when needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in a biological or technical field.

  • Minimum of one year of laboratory experience, preferably with sterile techniques, cell culture, or laboratory support functions.

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills.

  • Ability to follow protocols and maintain compliance with laboratory regulations.

  • Team-oriented and able to work collaboratively.

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and priorities, including weekend coverage and occasional overtime.

  • Basic laboratory skills, including pipetting, sterilization, and equipment preparation.

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

  • Hourly position, with possible overtime support as needed.

  • Rotating weekends required.

  • Standard hours: 7:15 a.m.–4:15 p.m.; may occasionally pivot to a later shift for documentation-heavy tasks, ending no later than approximately 6:30 p.m.
