JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE ISS Monitor/Attendance
SUPERVISOR Principal
SALARY $20.32/hr
JOB SUMMARY
Supervise students who have been placed on in-school suspension for all or part of the day. Processes and maintains student attendance records.
ASSIGNMENT
1. CLBESP– 9 Month Position
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. ISS Monitor
A. Observe, enforce and reinforce proper student behavior.
B. Explain policies and expectations regarding behavior to students as needed and/or directed.
C. Gather and distribute assignments provided by teaching staff and keep students on task.
D. Maintain accurate data on student referrals and daily assignment records from teachers.
E. Assist in the development of positive social skills.
F. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
2. Attendance Monitor
A. Generate attendance records and ADA documentations and reports.
B. Enter data into JMC according to standard procedures and prepare daily attendance list.
C. Ability to effectively communicate with teachers, administrators, police officers, parents and students.
D. Other duties as assigned.
CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE
1. Physical Involvement
A. Position requires prolonged position in any combination of body postures, such as squatting, stooping, bending (both sitting and standing), reaching, kneeling, or sitting on the floor while performing student care, or
classroom activities.
B. Position may occasionally exert in excess of 50 lbs. during physical assistance, physical removal or restraint of student/s
2. Mental Involvement
A. Position requires ability to multiple tasking while working with interruptions and classroom noise
B. Position includes prioritizing of work assignments of students with a variety of educational needs
SUPERVISION OF OTHER EMPLOYEES
1. This position does not include supervision of other employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School Diploma or equivalent
2. AA degree or paraprofessional assessment test
3. First aid certification is preferred
4. CPR certification is preferred
5. Prior experience within an educational system or working with children preferred
8. Valid Minnesota Driver’s License
9. Must complete the necessary application process and pass a criminal background check and drug screening test
