INTERNAL ONLY - FIRE ADMINSTRATIVE ASSISTANT - STARTING PAY: $23.18 - $25.58 PER HOUR - Full-time

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

This position provides comprehensive administrative support to the Fire and Rescue Department. The primary focus is assisting the Deputy Chief/Fire Marshal and supporting the various Divisions under their command (Operations, Training, Finance/Administration, and Community Care & Compliance).

The successful applicant will perform a wide range of administrative and related clerical duties, including organizational and functional support for career and volunteer personnel across operations, scheduling, training, and departmental reporting. Duties include creating and preparing correspondence, arranging appointments, answering phones, and overseeing various money accounts. This role will also be heavily involved in specialized administrative functions such as onboarding, training record management, Fire & Rescue IPRA records, grant documentation, state/national reporting, travel and training documentation, and ISO preparation. Typing may involve memos, directives, or other interdepartmental information. The employee must perform all duties with minimal supervision. The employee may be required to work irregular hours, attend other job-related meetings, and perform other duties as assigned.
