You’ll work alongside top engineers, contractors, and municipal agencies on a project that makes a real difference in the community. This is hands-on work that matters—you’ll be on-site, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance every step of the way.
What you'll do
- Conduct detailed on-site inspections of construction activities, verifying compliance with project specifications, standards, and safety regulations.
- Perform concrete and material testing in accordance with ACI standards, ensuring the highest quality in every pour and installation.
- Review contractor work for accuracy, adherence to approved plans, and overall quality.
- Document field observations, prepare daily reports, and maintain comprehensive inspection records.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, contractors, and municipal agencies to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Identify potential construction or compliance issues and provide practical, on-the-spot solutions.
- Participate in project meetings, offering technical insights and updates on construction progress and quality control.
- Contribute to a culture of excellence, safety, and accountability on a high-profile public works project.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a civil or construction inspector, preferably on municipal, water, or wastewater infrastructure projects.
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I certification required.
- Experience with Baltimore City DPW, Patapsco Wastewater Treatment Plant, or similar municipal projects is a strong plus.
- EIT or engineering degree is a plus but not required; hands-on inspection experience is most important.
- Knowledge of construction standards, safety regulations, and field testing procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on-site while collaborating effectively with multi-disciplinary teams.
