Description

Purpose and Scope:

An equipment installer, also known as an installation technician or equipment technician, is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining various types of equipment in different settings. 


Responsibilities:

· Install and   bend EMT conduit to code using hand benders and power tools

· Ensure proper   labeling, routing, and dressing of cables for clean and professional outcomes.

· Set up and   configure equipment to ensure proper functionality and performance.

· Conduct tests   to verify that installed equipment is operating correctly and troubleshoot   any issues that arise.

· Assist with   pulling, terminating, and testing structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a/fiber).

· Diagnose and   repair malfunctions in equipment, including replacing faulty parts and   components.

· Install and   bend EMT conduit to code using hand benders and power tools

·  Maintain   accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities,   including documenting any changes made to equipment configurations.

· Adhere to   safety protocols and regulations while installing and servicing equipment to   prevent accidents and injuries.

· Provide   excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, explaining   equipment functionality, and offering technical support as needed.

· Coordinate with   other team members, such as engineers, project managers, and sales staff, to   ensure smooth installations and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

 Education/Training:

· A High School Diploma or   equivalent is typically required. 

· Associate's   degree in computer science or equivalent experience required. 

· Additional technical   training or vocational certificates in relevant fields may be beneficial.


Technical Requirements:

· A+, Network+, and/or similar certifications highly preferred.


Experience:

· At least Three (3) years of professional work experience in network   maintenance and user technical support preferred.

· Experience in equipment   installation, maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
