Lead Painter - Full-time

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Painter to oversee residential and commercial painting projects, manage a team of painters, and ensure exceptional finishes across all surfaces. This role requires a hands-on leader with a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of painting techniques and materials, and a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily activities of painting crews across multiple job sites
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
• Apply finishes such as paint, varnish, and sealants using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
• Inspect completed work to verify quality, consistency, and adherence to project specifications
• Manage inventory by ordering, receiving, and maintaining painting supplies and equipment
• Recruit, train, and mentor new painters, providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies
• Liaise with clients and project managers to communicate timelines, progress, and expectations
• Track project metrics including labor hours, material usage, and job costs for reporting and analysis

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years in commercial painting, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proficient in a variety of painting techniques and tools.
• Attention to Detail: Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Communication & Leadership: Strong interpersonal skills with proven leadership capabilities.
• Transportation: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly.
• Driving, standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
