This is a unique opportunity to combine your emergency medical training with hands-on support in a procedure-based setting.
Full-time schedule: 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Record patient medical history, vital statistics, and additional pertinent information in medical records.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and/or procedures
- Prepare and administer medications and start IV’s as directed by the provider.
- Collect blood, tissues, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens and prepare them for testing.
- Explain treatment procedures, medications, or physician instructions to patients.
- Answer patient questions regarding procedures or physician instructions.
- Assist with the post-procedure process, supporting the nursing staff in providing patient instructions and discontinuing IV’s as directed.
- Clean instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
- Assist providers and other healthcare providers in examining and treating patients; handing them instruments, giving injections, or other tasks as needed.
- Assist in evaluating patient conditions in emergent situations and perform preliminary diagnosis and life saving measures as necessary.
- Adhere to established medical protocols and procedures as well as legal guidelines and health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Emergency Medical Technician Certification
- BLS certification required
- 2 years of experience as an EMT preferred
- Knowledge of GCP, federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing and moving about a surgical center.

Consistent need for manual finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination

Must be able to move around an office/healthcare environment on a consistent basis

Must communicate with others and exchange information frequently and on an on-going basis.

Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
