RESIDENTIAL COUNSELOR HARBOR HOUSE - Per Diem
BHcare is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Per Diem Residential Counselor to join our team. In this role, you’ll provide support, guidance, and skill-building to individuals in a residential program—helping them gain independence, improve daily living skills, and thrive within their community. What You’ll Do:
• Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal planning, cooking, cleaning, and money management.
• Support clients in developing and following individualized recovery plans, adjusting goals as needed.
• Provide emotional support, counseling, and crisis intervention when required.
• Help residents build independence and integrate into the community through education, rehabilitation groups, and skill-building activities.
• Ensure client safety, health, and overall well-being during all shifts, including overnight coverage.
• Provide transportation for appointments and activities.
• Collaborate with treatment teams, natural supports, and community providers to connect clients with resources.
• Document services, progress, and recovery plan updates accurately and on time.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive living environment.

• Basic knowledge of mental health and co-occurring disorders preferred (training provided).
• Flexibility to remain awake and alert during shifts, including overnight hours.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.

Qualifications
- Two years of college education or High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 years’ direct care work experience.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft 365. Must be able to navigate through electronic health records system (EHR).
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must maintain an acceptable driving record and be insurable at a reasonable rate under the Organization’s auto insurance plan.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Passenger License. (Staff on the overnight shift may be excluded from Public Passenger License requirement).
PROFESSIONALLICENSURE /CERTIFICATIONS
- Ability to obtain and maintain BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
