The Shipping Associate at Allied Maker will be responsible for ensuring that all orders are properly packed, labeled, and shipped in a timely manner. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once. As part of our team, you will be the last step in the process of delivering beautiful, handcrafted lighting fixtures to customers, ensuring they receive their orders safely and on schedule.
- Carefully package lighting fixtures, ensuring they are securely wrapped and protected during shipment.
- Verify that orders are complete and match the shipping documentation, inspecting each item for quality assurance before packing.
- Accurately label packages and prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs paperwork as necessary.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, ensuring that packing materials are well-stocked.
- Operate shipping and packaging equipment such as tape machines, label printers, and scales.
- Assist with inventory management, reporting any discrepancies or damaged goods.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing and quality control teams to resolve any packing or shipping issues.
- Ensure all shipments are sent out according to schedule, keeping track of delivery deadlines.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure the proper handling of materials, including fragile and high-value items.
- Previous experience in a shipping or warehouse environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately follow shipping instructions.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier systems (UPS, FedEx, etc.).
- Ability to lift, carry, and move packages up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet shipping deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Basic math and computer skills to handle shipping documentation and track orders.
- A commitment to safety and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
- Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
- Ability to operate packing and shipping machinery and tools.
