Job Description

At Makeready we are searching for curious self-starters with a genuine interest in people. These hard-working individuals have always had a natural bend toward hospitality, no matter where they work, because they’ve always seen themselves as part of something bigger.

The People + Culture Generalist & Office Manager plays a dual role in supporting both Makeready’s People + Culture (P+C) team and the daily operations of our Home Office. This position blends HR generalist support with office and facilities leadership—serving as both a culture champion and an operational anchor.

This role partners closely with the Vice President of People + Culture and the broader P+C leadership team on confidential initiatives, cross-functional projects, and people-first programs. Success in this role requires exceptional organization, discretion, adaptability, and a service-oriented mindset, with the ability to balance multiple priorities while delivering thoughtful, hospitality-driven support.

Requested Tasks

  • Assist with the development, documentation, and ongoing maintenance of People + Culture Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare and support P+C operational reporting, including turnover metrics, executive summaries, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Maintain and update team member files, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes for Home Office and property leadership, as needed.
  • Assist with employee relations activities, including meeting coordination, communications, and responding to general inquiries.
  • Support team member recognition programs, engagement initiatives, training logistics, and survey administration.
  • Provide administrative support to the Vice President of People + Culture, including calendar management, travel coordination, and meeting logistics.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for guests, candidates, and team members at the Home Office, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience.
  • Partner with hiring leaders to coordinate onboarding logistics, including office setup, first-day experiences, and cultural touchpoints.
  • Plan and execute office events, celebrations, and People + Culture initiatives that foster engagement and belonging.
  • Manage day-to-day office operations, including office supplies, shipping and receiving, and vendor coordination.
  • Oversee facilities operations, including building access, maintenance coordination, safety, and security systems.
  • Act as the primary liaison with building management, contractors, and service providers to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained office environment.

Requested Capabilities

  • 3+ years of experience in HR or People + Culture support; hospitality experience strongly preferred.
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; HRIS experience is a plus.
  • Curiosity-driven, growth-minded, and eager to learn—viewing every task as an opportunity to grow and contribute.
