Practice Setting and Clinical Scope
As part of this opportunity, you will deliver comprehensive urology care in both clinic and hospital settings. The role demands a strong foundation in general urology, with the flexibility to handle an array of procedures from cystoscopy to nephrectomy. The facility is equipped with advanced robotic technology, although robotic procedures are not mandatory. Expect to see an average of 20-25 patients per day and perform approximately 20-30 surgeries monthly.
Schedule and Assignment Details
This locum position requires a minimum commitment of three months, with the possibility of extension. The schedule includes regular clinic hours from 8 AM to 4 PM, night call from 5 PM to 8 AM, and 24-hour call on a rotational basis every 1 to 6 days. Weekend call is necessary, but the specifics are flexible, allowing for a balanced approach to work and personal life. Candidates must be prepared to start as soon as credentialing is complete, with ongoing availability through February 2026.
Support and Work Environment
You will be supported by a dedicated team comprising two RNs, a Medical Assistant, a Surgery Scheduler, and two front office staff members. The hospital utilizes the Epic EMR system, ensuring seamless coordination of care. Additionally, the hospitalist team provides vital support for admissions and patient management, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality urological care.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Urology is highly preferred, though board eligible candidates within five years of residency completion will be considered
- Active Washington State medical license or eligibility for an IMLC license
- ACLS, BLS, and DEA certifications are required, with opportunities to obtain them if not currently held
- Candidates must be able to commit to covering approximately 80% of the specified dates and provide clear availability through February 2026
- A clean malpractice record is highly preferred
