Project Details:
Our well established client with a global presence is seeking a Microsoft Teams Migration Project Manager responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and closure of projects involving the migration to or within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, with a focus on Microsoft Teams. This role combines core project management skills with specific technical knowledge of the Microsoft 365 stack and robust change management expertise.
Looking for a senior-level Project Manager primarily responsible for enterprise-scale Microsoft Teams migration, driving strategy and execution for sizeable user populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets, managing the full project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
- Act as the primary liaison between clients, IT staff, department leads, and third-party vendors, managing expectations and ensuring clear, consistent communication.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks (e.g., data loss, application compatibility, security vulnerabilities) and develop contingency plans to address challenges.
- Lead change management strategies, including communication planning, end-user training oversight, and support programs to drive successful user adoption and minimize disruption.
- Coordinate and guide internal and external technical teams (engineers, architects) on the design, configuration, and deployment of Microsoft 365 solutions, ensuring adherence to governance and security policies.
- Oversee content analysis, data cleansing, permissions mapping, and the physical migration of data from legacy systems (like file servers) to the new Microsoft 365 environment.
- Continuously monitor project progress, track milestones and deliverables, manage change requests, and provide regular status reports and risk assessments to senior leadership.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience (5 - 10 years) managing IT projects, with a strong focus on Microsoft 365 migrations (SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams).
- Strong understanding of the Microsoft 365 technology stack, including governance, security, and compliance features (e.g., Microsoft Purview, DLP).
- Familiarity with migration tools (Microsoft's native tools or third-party solutions) is essential.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).
Certifications (Preferred):
- Project Management: PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification.
- Microsoft: Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator, Collaboration Engineer, Enterprise Administrator Expert, or Project Management-related MS certifications.
- Change Management: Prosci or ADKAR certification.
- Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
