Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN with active IL licensure and at least 1 year of interventional cardiac cath lab experience for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment.

  • Work in a 5-room Cath Lab unit with an average daily census of 25 patients
  • \n
  • Day shift schedule of 4x12 or 3x12 hours (0630-1900)
  • \n
  • Will work 2-3 weekends per contract
  • \n
  • On-call responsibilities required as needed
  • \n
  • Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities
  • \n
  • Cerner EMR used for charting
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active Illinois RN license in hand required at time of application
  • \n
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted)
  • \n
  • Minimum 1 year of interventional cardiac cath lab experience required
  • \n
  • Experience with Circulate Procedures, Diagnostic Catheterizations Adult, Left Heart Catheterization, Right Heart Catheterization, and Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring required
  • \n
  • Experience with Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring required
  • \n
  • Skilled in Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias and Monitoring Procedural Sedation
  • \n
  • Cerner charting system experience required
  • \n
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • \n

  • Facility is a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated acute care hospital with 562 staffed beds
  • \n
  • Scrubs provided by the facility
  • \n
  • Parking permit required at no cost, arranged during orientation
  • \n
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • \n
  • Previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
  • \n
  • Local candidates are accepted for this specialty
  • \n
  • RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 non-holiday days
  • \n
  • Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
  • \n
  • Travel pairs are not accepted for this assignment
