Intermountain is expanding and we’re hiring! We are seeking an RN with psychiatric and/or school nursing experience who is ready to be a part of our mission. If you are energetic, adaptable, purpose-driven, and dedicated to healing children and communities, come join our team as our Residential School Nurse.
This person will work with children ages 4-14 on our private, 36-acre mountain campus with a private accredited school for our therapeutic day treatment center and residential cottages.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Provide nursing assessments, develop plans and interventions, facilitate health visits and health education. Documents and communicates the care provided, follow up care as needed, and submit associated billing in a timely manner.
- Medical assessment of referrals for potential admissions and provide a nursing assessment for new admissions
- Provide medication administration and delegate medication administration to direct care staff
- Training and ongoing education to direct care staff for medication administration, medical health and education, and training related to the prevention and control of community and nosocomial infections.
- Triage any sudden medical needs such as first aid assistance, sudden illness, etc. to determine appropriate course of action for treatment of the child
- Coordinate all in-house psychiatric appointments and partner with external agencies for the physical well-being of the child through arranging appointments and transporting kids to their medical, dental, and other health related appointments.
- Address both clinical and administrative issues that arise within this provision of care. Support medication compliance through audits and implement any action plans for continuous quality improvement.
Qualifications:
- Must be eligible to obtain a Registered Nurse license from the State of Montana and secure this within two months of hire.
- Previous nursing experience, including public health or school health, preferred.
- Valid Montana Driver’s License (or obtain within 60 days of employment)
- Must pass a Background check prior to start date
