Job Overview
TeamBuilders is seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical Therapist to join our multidisciplinary behavioral health team. The Clinical Therapist works under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor/Director and collaborates closely with program managers, coordinators, and agency staff to deliver high-quality, client-centered services.
This role is responsible for providing comprehensive clinical care, including psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, care coordination, crisis intervention, and therapeutic services. Services may be delivered in office-based, home-based, or community-based settings depending on client needs.

Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to agency philosophy, policies, and standards of conduct.

Understand and comply with all state regulations and contract requirements.

Complete written psychosocial assessments within 24-48 hours of client admission or case assignment.

Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.

Provide individual, group, and family therapy, including home-based and community-based services as assigned.

Participate in treatment team meetings, case reviews, and problem-solving sessions.

Collaborate with internal staff and collateral providers to ensure coordinated care.

Provide crisis intervention services, including availability for 24-hour crisis response as needed or directed.

Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical documentation, including:

1. DAP progress notes
2. Treatment plans and updates
3. Case notes
4. Program forms
5. Incident reports
6. Letters of progress


Perform administrative and utilization review duties related to assigned cases, including billing and performance measures.

Attend required supervision, trainings, and professional development activities.

Uphold all applicable professional Codes of Ethics (e.g., NASW, ACA, APA).

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Pre-Employment Requirements and Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree or Doctorate from an accredited college or university in Social Work; Guidance and Counseling; Psychology; or related health field, plus any combination or graduate studies in the above areas.
  • Experience in Behavioral Health adding up to two (2) years of experience working with SED children and families or SMI/SUD/COD adults.
  • New Mexico Licensure in one or more of the following: LPCC, LCSW, LMFT, PhD, PsyD, LMSW, LMHC, LPAT.
  • Thorough knowledge and use of community resources. 
  • The ability to consistently establish positive relationships, communicate and work cooperatively with clients, families, colleagues, staff, and community members.
  • Must be computer literate in order to effectively maintain compliance with BHSD Standards and requirements for use of computerized client assessments, data systems, etc.
  • Must have and maintain current, valid NM Driver’s License.  Must also have and maintain clean driving record, as well as auto insurance.
  • Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural preferred (English/Spanish).
