Job Summary
The Intermediate Level Casting Technician is responsible for producing urethane castings
Primary Job Functions
Prep tooling for the casting process
Select material to be cast from job traveler/cast schedule
Determine material and correct shot weight by calculating volume
Determine correct mix ratios of materials and percentage of pigment if applicable
Cast urethane parts using various methods
Education and Training
High school diploma or GED
Experience
Basic knowledge and maintenance of casting equipment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic math skills
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
Basic communication reading and writing skills, good comprehension
Ability to operate wood working equipment as needed
Recognize any trouble areas in tooling and report to the department lead or supervisor
Safe working knowledge of all pressure vessels
Working Environment / Physical Demands
This position requires the ability to stand, stoop, and bend for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
This position requires the manual dexterity sufficient to operate common manufacturing machinery and hand tools.
Must speak clearly using the English language to accurately convey information and be able to hear at normal speaking levels.
Must be able to visually read the work instructions, gages, and monitors required to complete daily tasks.
Regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds, frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds.
