Job Summary

The Intermediate Level Casting Technician is responsible for producing urethane castings

Primary Job Functions

  • Prep tooling for the casting process

  • Select material to be cast from job traveler/cast schedule

  • Determine material and correct shot weight by calculating volume

  • Determine correct mix ratios of materials and percentage of pigment if applicable

  • Cast urethane parts using various methods

Education and Training

High school diploma or GED

Experience

Basic knowledge and maintenance of casting equipment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Basic math skills

  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds

  • Basic communication reading and writing skills, good comprehension

  • Ability to operate wood working equipment as needed

  • Recognize any trouble areas in tooling and report to the department lead or supervisor

  • Safe working knowledge of all pressure vessels

Working Environment / Physical Demands

  • This position requires the ability to stand, stoop, and bend for a minimum of 8 hours per day.

  • This position requires the manual dexterity sufficient to operate common manufacturing machinery and hand tools.

  • Must speak clearly using the English language to accurately convey information and be able to hear at normal speaking levels.

  • Must be able to visually read the work instructions, gages, and monitors required to complete daily tasks.

  • Regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds, frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds.
