Job Description
Are you eager to enhance patient care? Working under the supervision of our Imaging Services Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, you will be essential in executing radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures. Your skills will aid physicians in identifying diseases and injuries, all while prioritizing patient safety and care through effective practices.
Your Responsibilities:As a Radiologic Technologist, your tasks will include:
- Performing both specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
- Offering compassionate explanations of procedures to patients, helping to alleviate their concerns and ensuring their cooperation.
- Preparing and positioning patients for imaging, adjusting immobilization devices for the best possible views.
- Assessing exposure factors based on individual patient needs and imaging specifications.
- Utilizing mobile radiologic equipment in various environments, such as operating and emergency rooms.
- Supporting radiologists during fluoroscopic and specialized x-ray examinations.
- Processing and preparing images for evaluation by radiologists or referring physicians.
- Conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs on radiologic equipment.
- Applying radiation protection measures to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Training and orienting new staff and students.
- Filling in as needed in the absence of the Supervising Radiology Technologist.
- Undertaking additional related responsibilities as required.
To excel in this position, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Experience: At least five (5) years in the radiology field.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Licenses & Certifications:
- Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California)
- Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California)
- Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California)
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Additional Requirements:
- California Venipuncture Certificate and Mammography Certificate (if applicable).
- Capability to perform general diagnostic and fluoroscopic tasks for all age groups.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and colleagues.
- Willingness to work within a Labor Management Partnership framework.
This role does not include supervisory duties, allowing you to concentrate on providing outstanding patient care.
