Position Overview

As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), you will be essential in delivering direct rehabilitation services to patients, adhering to physician referrals and working under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). Your responsibilities will comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards, ensuring the highest level of care.

Qualifications and Licensure
  • Completion of an accredited physical therapy program (ASPT)
  • Current registration or licensure in the relevant state, with an active license in good standing throughout your tenure
  • Preferred: At least one (1) year of experience in post-acute care or a similar environment
  • CPR certification is required upon hiring or to be obtained during orientation; must remain valid throughout employment
Job Responsibilities
  • Participate in community health initiatives and projects as needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication
  • Work collaboratively with patients, families, and support teams to effectively address patient needs
  • Maintain proper body mechanics at all times
  • Make independent decisions when required
  • Familiar with practices, procedures, and regulations related to post-acute care facilities
  • Implement and interpret departmental programs, objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Exhibit proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
  • Foster professional relationships with colleagues and vendors
  • Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information
  • Comply with organizational policies, including those related to harassment and compliance
  • Demonstrate integrity and professionalism by adhering to the organization’s Code of Conduct and completing required training
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement physical therapy treatment plans under the supervision of the PT
  • Document patient progress accurately and promptly
  • Effectively utilize therapy software
  • Provide outstanding customer service and maintain a positive demeanor towards patients
  • Assist in the safe evacuation of patients when necessary
  • Exhibit reliable and consistent attendance
  • Apply reasoning skills and sound judgment in all situations
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate productively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving throughout your working hours
  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language proficiently
