Job Description
Are you eager to enhance patient care? As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be essential in supporting physicians in diagnosing illnesses and injuries. Working under the supervision of our Imaging Services Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, you will utilize state-of-the-art radiographic technology to generate high-quality images that assist in patient evaluations.
Your Responsibilities:In this engaging position, you will:
- Conduct both specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
- Deliver empathetic care by clearly explaining procedures to patients, helping to alleviate their concerns.
- Prepare and position patients for imaging, prioritizing their comfort and safety.
- Adjust immobilization devices to obtain the best views as directed by physicians.
- Assess exposure factors based on individual patient needs to ensure precise imaging.
- Operate mobile radiologic equipment in various environments, including operating and emergency rooms.
- Assist radiologists during fluoroscopic and specialized x-ray examinations.
- Process and prepare images for review by radiologists or referring physicians.
- Maintain and troubleshoot radiologic equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Implement radiation protection protocols to safeguard both patients and staff.
- Train and mentor new employees and students, sharing your knowledge with future professionals.
- Step in as needed when the Supervising Radiology Technologist is unavailable.
- Perform additional related tasks as required.
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Experience: At least five (5) years in a radiologic technologist capacity.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Licenses & Certifications:
- Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California)
- Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California)
- Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California)
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Additional Requirements:
- California Venipuncture Certificate and Mammography Certificate (if applicable).
- Capability to perform general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic tasks for all age groups.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and colleagues.
- Willingness to work within a Labor Management Partnership framework.
This role does not involve supervisory duties, allowing you to concentrate on providing outstanding patient care in a nurturing atmosphere.
