Job Summary:

Applies the principles of asepsis in a knowledgeable manner to maintain a sterile environment. Demonstrates competency in technical and psychomotor skills, provides age-specific care, and ensures a safe environment for patients and staff. Assists in organizing supplies and equipment, performs sterilization and disinfection, and participates in room turnover and setup. Applies principles of sterile technique during surgical procedures and supports perioperative teamwork.

Required Qualifications:

• 1+ years of surgical tech experience
• Ability to independently scrub basic surgical procedures
• Problem-solving skills related to surgical procedures
• Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology
• Understanding of electricity, chemistry, computers, robotics, and lasers for surgical care
• Knowledge and practice of patient care concepts and perioperative teamwork
• Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or Certificate of completion of Surgical Technology program
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• IDPH Fingerprinting

Preferred Qualifications:

• CVOR experience
• Trauma 1 experience
• Comfortable with floating to other modalities when CV caseload is low
